Getting started

Visit any app Store to download our app for free! Then, register an account and create the elderly’s profile to begin.

Follow the steps below, or you can reference the steps in the app for the initial set-up.

    1. After wearing the smart diaper properly, please activate the Sensor by clipping it onto the smart diaper sensing lines.
    2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and go to open the Nice Care Smart app and the elderly’s profile page from the Nice Care Smart app.
    3. Press the button in the app for the phone to search the Sensor and automatically pair the Sensor to the user.
    4. Data will start showing up in the app.

Yes. Our system is designed to accommodate data transmission for short and long-distance range. Within a short distance range, you can simply receive data to your phone via Bluetooth from the Sensor. While you are away from the user, you can receive data from the internet. To enable receiving data from the internet, you need to connect the Hub to the internet, so it receives data from the Kini Sensor and in return transmits the data to your phone.

Simply connect the transmission Hub to the available Wi-Fi network and place the Hub in proximity (~10-15 m) of the elderly wearing the smart diaper with the Sensor attached. You will be able to receive data on your app even when you are outside the home or anywhere in the world.

The battery can last for around 1-2 months depending on how often the Sensor is being used throughout the period.

The Hub needs to connect the power at all times to continuously send data to the internet and display data on the mobile app.

The Sensor is disconnected when no data is shown on your app.

A low battery icon will be shown on the app. When it appears, the battery can still last around 1 week. It is advised to change the battery within 1 or 2 days.

Troubleshoot

Simply click on the Connect icon on the top right-hand corner under the user’s profile in our app. The phone will start to scan the Kini Sensor in closest proximity and proceed with pairing the Sensor to the user. Once it is completed, you will see a message “Binding success” on the app screen and data showing up on the user profile within a few seconds. The icon will change from to the connected link icon when the Kini Sensor is connected to the Wondermom app so you will know if the connection is successful.

You will see a green light appears on the Sensor a few seconds after you have successfully attached the Sensor to the sensing lines of the diaper.

When the Sensor is connected to the smart diaper, the Hub will show a green-color light when turned on. Besides, the app will continue to display data when you take your phone away from the Kini Sensor and the baby (outside the Bluetooth range of 10-15 meters). If the app is not displaying data, it means that the Hub has failed to connect to the network.

*** If the receiver does not have a diaper wetness color indication (light is white when turned on), it means that for some reason the Hub’s diaper wetness indicator functionality is disabled. To enable the function, please see #5.

Press the on/off button on the Hub long enough until it turns blue, then place the Sensor close to the Hub and attach it to the sensing lines of the diaper. Once the Sensor is clipped onto the smart diaper, the light of the alarm will turn to white and then green (if the diaper is dry). The display of the colour of the Hub in green indicated that the diaper wetness function is now enabled.

The setting mode for controlling the Bluetooth of each mobile phone is different. In the app is operating in standby mode (in the background), the Bluetooth connection could be lost and interrupted based on the settings provided by the service provider and mobile carriers. The use of the Wonderkin Service should not replace your good judgement and common sense.
To reset the Bluetooth, just re-open the Wondermom app, and the Wondermom app will automatically scan the nearby Kini Sensor and automatically display the data again.

Because there is a chance where Bluetooth will be interrupted in the background, we encourage parents to keep an eye on baby at all times, and to use your own judgement.

The app will not be able to locate the Hub in the following situations:

  • Bluetooth is not turned on
  • The Hub has not entered the Wi-Fi pairing mode (i.e., Press the On/Off button of the Hub until it switches on with a light that turns purple in colour)
  • The Hub is not connected to the power

If the above conditions are met but the Hub is still not found, please contact our Wondermom Customer Service team.

If you are having trouble connecting your Hub to a Wi-Fi network device, check the following:

  • Ensure that your mobile device and geographic area support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, avoiding Wi-Fi networks of 4Ghz or higher
  • Wi-Fi network has a Wi-Fi name and password
  • The Wi-Fi name has less than 18 characters, such as “WiFi GT.2019-1234” instead of “WiFi GT.2019-12345”.
  • There is no additional level of security for connected Wi-Fi networks. For example, Wi-Fi in hotels requires additional verification steps using the room number and password on the website.

Important Note: If you use the IOS version of the app for distribution, please note that the Wi-Fi name and password are also in case sensitive.

Safety and data security

Conductive ink printed on the diaper layer is not directly in contact with the skin. Our product has passed the 2002/95/EC Directive in terms of chemical uses and it is made from high-quality raw material imported from Japan, Germany and the U.S. It is regularly tested against QB / T 2493, GB 15979 standards and CE and FDA certified. Bluetooth embedded in the Sensor has proven no harm to adults’ health. Wi-Fi used in the alarm has lower radiation than that used in our cell phones.

There is a one-year warranty for the smart device (Sensor and Hub) upon your purchase. Simply fill in the warranty form within a month of purchase on our website (www.wonderkin.co) so you can receive a free exchange of the device if the device is broken.

Setting up

Yes, definitely. Our team can send you some smart diaper samples for you to try. We can also visit your facility to set up the pilot testing in selected rooms or users and provide the necessary training to help caregivers and the management team. Please contact us for more information.

The facility will require a Wi-Fi connection that covers areas where users stay. We only support Wi-Fi network with a simple password login, but not network with VPN or extra security level. To install the Hub, we will need power in each room to connect to the Hub. To use the web portal, a desktop/ tablet is needed to view data. If you would like to use our system on-the-go with our application, you will need tablets or smartphones to be carried by nurse-on-duty.

It depends on the sizes and interior design of the nursing homes. Each user needs a minimum of one Sensor for connection. Since one Hub can detect signal from an unlimited number of Sensors within a Bluetooth range (10-15m), we recommend using one Hub per room. You can also place a Hub in the common areas and bathrooms so alarms can be tracked and recorded with location information.

Our diaper is made of high-quality raw materials imported from the US, Japan, and Germany. The design and features of the diaper are comparable to the premium adult diapers available in the market. The manufacturer that produces our diapers has acquired all certifications for safety, export permits and had 20+ years of experience in manufacturing incontinence products all over the world.

Yes. Sensors can be washed by using water or even alcohol. They are reusable.

The Hub can be used as a transmission gateway, as well as a diaper wetness indicator lamp. To use it as a diaper wetness indicator, you can enable the colour indication function of the Hub of 1 particular Sensor. Please note that the colour indication function of the Hub only makes sense to use for one user at a time.



It can detect signals from an unlimited number of Sensors within a Bluetooth range (10-15m), we recommend using one Hub per room.

It has an accelerometer within the Sensor to detect falls based on the changes in directions, positions, and velocity.

The default sensitivity setting of the diaper wetness is set to go off around 3 times of urination. However, the sensitivity of the alarm can be adjusted according to the users’ sensitivity in our system.

Yes, the personalized setting is available for inactivity timer and diaper wetness alarm. We can set the maximum inactivity duration we can tolerate per user to trigger an alarm, and we can also set the sensitivity and the lapse duration of the diaper wetness alarm per user.

The facility can create a login account for each nurse. Upon recording the tasks, nurses can login to their own account and mark tasks completed so the tasks completed by each nurse can be recorded in the system with a date and time.

The Sensor is disconnected when the users on the screen appear as “grey”. Connected users are shown as “white” on the screen and the data will show up in the app and the web portal.

The Hub needs to be connected to the Wi-Fi to be able to send data to the Cloud System. The transmission hub is a receiver that receives signals from all the sensors within 10 m distance via Bluetooth. Then it sends data from the hub to the Cloud via Wi-Fi.

We are employing Amazon Web Services (AWS) as our Cloud System provider, which adopts world-class, highly secure data centres utilizing state-of-the-art electronic surveillance and multi-factor access control systems. In addition, different access rights are given to various account types within our system, including super admin, general admin, nursing home, nursing home manager and nurse accounts. The transmission of data from the Sensor to the Hub is encrypted and contains no client’s personal data.

No, it is an optional tool. You will not need to use it when you are within 10m away from the Kini sensor and the baby as your phone can automatically receive data from the Kini sensor via Bluetooth. However, if you want to be able to receive data even when you are far away from the baby (or Kini sensor), you will need to use the Hub.

The smart diaper has two carbon sensing ink printed on the peripheral of the diaper, which is the instrument for measuring wetness level of the diaper, replacing the usual wetness indicator you see in the normal diapers. When the liquid flows into the diaper, the wetness of the diaper on the sensing ink changes the resistance of the electrons flow, and then send a signal from the sensor.

Yes. It is safe for you to use charger above 2A to charge your Hub.

If you want to switch off/ on the sound or notification of the Hub or app, you can turn off music or vibrate, or even push notifications under Settings in the app.

The battery can last for around 1-2 months depending on how often the Sensor is being used throughout the period. You can simply replace the used battery with a CR2016 button battery.

You can find it through the low battery icon in the app. After the icon appears, the power can be used for about a week, but it is recommended to replace the battery within one to two days.

Safety and data security

Bluetooth is a proprietary open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (~10m). Hence compared to a mobile phone that needs to continuously connect to a tower that could be miles away, Bluetooth will emit significantly less energy, thus less radiation.

  • The wetness indicator is made of carbon sensing ink, which is the technology behind the wetness sensor. Carbon is a natural chemical and rarely causes any sensitivity issues.
  • The smart diaper has passed the 2002/95/EC Directive on chemical use and is also made from high quality raw materials imported from Japan, Germany and the United States. The diapers are regularly tested by QB / T 2493 and GB 15979 standards, CE and FDA certified. The Bluetooth of the sensor does not cause any harm to the health of adults, and the radiation is lower than that of the mobile phone.
  • The carbon ink is also printed in the outer layer of the diaper and does not directly touch the users’ skin. Compared to other dyes or coloring, carbon is a safer option than another dyed wetness indicator available in the market.
  • The printing ink of the sensing lines has passed CMA testing where all chemical content is found to be within the limits specified in the 2002 95/EC Directive.

The raw material used to make the smart diaper is the same material used to make diapers you can normally find in the market. The top sheet of the diaper is made of non-woven imported from Korea, the absorbent core is made of virgin wood pulp imported from the United States and superabsorbent polymer imported from Japan and Germany.

The users’ data transmitted via Bluetooth is encrypted and detached from any user information. The data stored on the Internet stays in the Amazon Web Services, which has a sophisticated technical and physical measure against unauthorized access (any person other than you). The Cloud server is compliant to all data control security regulations such as ISO27001, 27017, 27018, and 9001 certifications. You can read more about data security on our website.
